We had a wonderful speaker called Paul Cooper, he is the Forensic Co-ordinator for the South West. The talk was longer than usual but it was extremely interesting, we had lots of visitors with plenty of questions for him too. Paul took us through a crime scene, explaining blood spatter patterns, finger prints, and so much more along the way, while keeping the conversation as light as possible considering the topic.
Other news - our Campaign group went on a couple of field trips; on the 18th of June they visited Codford Bio-gas where they were taken on a tour and met with some lovely people working there. On the 28th of June they met with Amesbury town planners who held a walk around town for anyone who wanted to come along, unfortunately not many residents of Amesbury turned up. The planners talked about possible changes to our town, looking at the historic relevance and how to make more of it to encourage growth within the town centre.
A group of us participated in the Walk for Wards, oh what a down pour we had while walking!
From the WI's National Federation we have been encouraged to join in with England Rugby impact 25, so another group of our ladies joined a free fitness group held at our local Rugby club on Wednesday's at 6.30pm - we had lots of fun being very silly while exercising. The next meeting at Antrobus House will be on the 8th of August.
