Durrington Walls Wind Band

Summer Concert at Durrington Village Hall

This year at 3pm on Sunday 7th July

The main attractions this year are solos which are the Post Horn Galop and the Concierto de Aranques both played by our special guest Soloist, Steve Rowland from Iford near Bournemouth who is much in demand as the soloist for these 2 pieces.

He is an incredibly competent player and his playing of the Galop on the Post Horn is renowned throughout out the southern region.

The Concierto has been used more recently in the film, “Brassed Off”.

Other soloists are our conductor, John, a professional clarinettist playing the well-known Promenade – Walking the dog and Jill Stevens, a music teacher, playing the Tenor Horn for the solo part in the Allegro from Mozart’s famous Horn Concerto in E flat.

The supporting programme is a mix of well-known light music for a summer afternoon and there will be a raffle and refreshments.

Admission is free but come early to enjoy this afternoon of superb music.
